Siyabonga Mlambi

South African born contemporary artist.

In the realm of art, Siyabonga's journey began with a spark of "almost love at first sight," captivated by its allure during his childhood. As the years unfolded and he reached the pinnacle of his High School days, this infatuation had blossomed into a profound and passionate affair with art.

Throughout his college years, Siyabonga delved deep into the study of art and design, focusing his gaze on the enchanting world of nature and the mesmerizing array of color palettes it presented.

Upon his graduation, Siyabonga embarked on a quest to master the expression of his artistic visions, skillfully wielding acrylics, fabric, stones, grass, ink, and graphite as his chosen mediums. As he honed his creative prowess, he fearlessly explored various styles and techniques, tirelessly searching for the one that would resonate most with his soul. And so, he eventually discovered a style that would define him, and it would come to be known as "Superblur African Synthetic Cubism/Circlelism."

Within this distinctive style lies a profound purpose—to enthrall and enchant the viewer with an elusive beauty, a beauty that eludes the eye but is felt profoundly by the heart. Siyabonga seeks to evoke emotions akin to the way music weaves its way into our subconscious, leaving indelible memories etched in our souls. Through his art, he endeavors to influence lives, weaving meaningful messages and narrating tales of the commonplace, all with the intent of sparking change in the world.

In Siyabonga's own words, his creative process is rooted in observation and problem-solving, grounded in honesty and a sense of distance.

As a poet in addition to being an artist, his profound artistic expression extends not only to mixed media but also through the power of words. And through both forms of expression, he aspires to convey a profound message of love—a love that resonates deeply within the hearts and spirits of all who encounter his creations.
